ABOUT THE JOINT PROGRAMME
There is an ever-increasing need for financial valuation services pertaining to ownership interests and assets in non-public companies and subsidiaries, divisions, or segments of public companies.
There is little doubt that valuing a business is often complex. In part, this complexity is due to the fact that business evaluation is subjective. The simple fact is that the value of a business is often left to the mercy of the person conducting the evaluation. Adding yet another level of complexity is the fact that the person conducting the valuation has no choice but to assume that all the information provided is, in fact, correct and accurate. Several of the auditing firms provide valuation services. There are also analysts and appraisers who practice out of various types of organizations, including appraisal companies, valuation portals, and consulting firms. Valuations are also performed by investment bankers, usually as part of a transaction. Owners and financial executives also participate in valuations of their companies or segments of their companies. This Seminar attempts to provide a sound understanding of financial valuation for all users and providers of valuation services and to advance consensus views on some of the more troublesome aspects of valuation science and is aimed to address the most difficult areas of valuing a business:
-
Valuing Intangibles
-
Product or service diversity
-
ESOP ownership
-
Evaluation of critical supply source
-
Customer concentration
-
Company or Industry Life cycles
