The entitlement to tax treaty benefits is of pivotal importance for taxpayers in order to obtain treaty benefits. Multilateral Instrument (MLI) to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures are effective from 1 April 2020 in India and it will become pertinent and important for Indian entities to determine the tax treaty entitlement of the recipient of the payments.
