For the last few years businesses are operating under the VUCA environment. VUCA is an acronym for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. This is true irrespective of the size and nature of the business. MSME plays a crucial role in the Indian economy. Accounting and Audit practice in the MSME market face significant challenges. Various onerous responsibilities have been cast upon the auditor not only under the regulatory laws like the Companies Act 2013, but also under the tax laws like Income-tax Act 1961. The auditor of a MSME is required to be as proficient in all relevant standards as the auditor of a large entity. However, having complete knowledge of relevant Auditing Standards, coupled with experience in making good professional judgment is essential for MSME audit efficiency. A Robust audit mechanism not only helps in complying with regulatory and tax laws but also helps the businesses to assert their credit worthiness.

Recently Tax Audit Report has been modified and various new clauses has been introduced, New clauses required special attention. Speakers shall discuss new clauses of Tax Audit Report.

CBDT has issued Notification No. 33/ 2018 dated 20-07-2018, amending the Tax audit Report - Form No. 3CD under section 44AB leading to 15 changes. The new reporting requirements are now obligatory on the taxpayers and chartered accountants. This notification is applicable from 20th August, 2018.
