The assessment for the Assessment Year 2015-16 would become time barred on 31st December 2017 and there are various issues with regard to the ongoing scrutiny Assessments and Reassessments under section 143(3) or 143(3) r.w.s 147 or 143(3) r.w.s 153A.

The Income Tax Department has on its part initiated the process of e-assessments and is encouraging assessee’s to take up this new initiative. There is a lot of apprehension in the minds of assessee’s and professionals about whether one should go ahead with this initiative of the government which is optional currently.

There are also recurring issues in assessment with regard to section 14A-Expenses relating to earning exempt income, 40(a)(ia) Disallowance for non-deduction of TDS, 68-Cash Credits with regard to share capital introduced, loans taken or advances received.
